All fried food was way overdone. Food took forever to come out. Probably first place I’ve not eaten the main course and just ate the side item. Wouldn’t waste your money.

My wife and I lived our lunch on the beach at the the lazy turtle bar and grill in Oak Island NC today. Our waitress, Kimberley, was very kind and helpful. It was evident that she loved working there. Our burger and fish tacos were excellent. Music playing in the background rounded out a perfect lunch!

The chips were cold. The shrimp was over cooked. Taco shells were stale. I was supposed to get hush puppies with my meal got corn instead. Told my server. She brought back 3 hush puppies. Poor quality food. Extremely over priced. Not only would I not go back. I would not recommend eating there. Maybe the drinks are good. If they get you drunk enough maybe the food is better. I dont know. If I could I wouldn't give it any stars. But I had to give it one to post a review.

My family went there for some food and drinks, was immediately met by a waitress that was extremely rude, with no explanation ask us to leave , this establishment is judgemental, and from the rest of these reviews I can clearly see why, manger and staff are extremely rude people, I wouldn't waist my time

First time to The Lazy Turtle and we had some cold beers and 2 apps. The fried oyster and shrimp balls. It was great. Melissa the bartender made the lunch great with her smile and great attitude!! Thanks!!

Very pleasant on a very hot day. Lots of people on the outside enjoying food basically on the beach. They have a GG salad that's as special Greek salad that's very good. Good service.

Can't beat the Lazy Turtle for a relaxed ocean front experience. Great place for music, drinks and (very) casual dining. If you can catch a shrimp boil, don't miss it!!!

Visited there on my oak island weekend getaway. This place was awesome and the staff were really nice.

Excellent place for a quick bit right on the beach. Not too expensive for a beach front restaurant. Dog friendly and even has water bowls for them. Also they have a dog menu, they will make them for just a few dollars a hamburger. Would definitely return if in town.

We went around 2pm on a Monday. We were the only customers inside. There were a few patrons at tables outside. The waitress was horrible. She was very forgetful and inattentive. The burgers were good, but we were served cold fries. My husband had to walk to the bar to get a refill of drinks because the waitress was outside gathered with other workers talking and smoking cigarettes. We could clearly observe them through the windows. We will not be returning.

Denied service because I CANT wear a mask due to a medical issue even after furnishing my inhaler.

Really good food. I wanted some good seafood before heading back home. They were one of few places open (bc of COVID-19) and they were they perfect way to end a lovely beach trip

Food is not that great, not many beer choices. Only have 2 draft beer choices. Beachfront venue with awesome view is why it is 3 stars. Heard a great Allman Brothers cover band on Sunday.

My family and I stopped in for dinner, however their fryer was down. We ordered drinks while looking over their modified menu. We decided to go somewhere else only due to limited choices for children on their modified menu. Kimberly our waitress was extremely polite and accommodating. She even referred us to a restaurant that had a great kids menu. I will definitely come back another day to try their food and sit on their outside seats.

Love how it's right off the beach! There food is tasty and comes out in a reasonable time. Drinks are well made but a little pricey, but not much more than other bars in the area. If your at the beach and feel like a drink this is a go to spot.

I would never eat here again. The place was empty and now I know why definitely not a slow rush. I’ve been here to drink at nights before it’s much better as a night bar!

Great location on the beach. Visited first of June 2020. Fish and shrimp was cooked just right but cheap frozen french fries were terrible. Don't get ketchup, salt & pepper or even silverware until you ask. Apparently new ownership. We always come here when in town but will reconsider. Seems they are focusing more on the bar aspect so if that's what you want you should be ok.

Arrived in Oak Island(first visit) and was pleased to see a restaurant/bar grill just steps from my motel being it was after 9 o’clock and didn’t feel like going out to eat. Called at 9:30 to place a to go order and was told they were not taking to go orders??? So I asked if I could come in and place an order being they didn’t close until 10. She then hung up on me!

Excellent view (though inside is pretty dingy). Our waitress was very nice and accomadating, although the service was poor over all as almost a majority of my 11 person party's orders were wrong or late. As for the food, it was the worst part of the place. The seafood was either fried and kind of bland or just downright bad. Would not recommend.

Food is hohum same as everyone else drinks a bit high. But the view spectacular

My favorite place to go with my pup for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing meal by the beach while your dog enjoys a meal of its own. This place is nothing fancy, but feels cozy like your favorite old sweatshirt. I cannot go to Oak Island without eating at least once at the Lazy Turtle.

This place was great. The prices were exactly what I expected, and the service was great. I don’t remember the name of our server but she did a great job! 5 stars for the place! 4 stars for the club sandwich. It was a really good sandwich! Especially the tomato! But it had 1 slice of deli meat per flavor. 1 slice ham. 1 slice turkey. Server was nice enough to bring out one more if each. 😂. If I wanted a vegetarian sandwich I would have ordered something else.

Really bad service! My husband and I have been to the Lazy Turtle several times; although the service is usually slow and the food just okay, the location is excellent and we have been treated very well by the staff until today. Today the waitress, a young woman with light colored hair in a ponytail, was exceptionally rude to us. She treated us as though she resented us being there. After two interactions in which she was extremely rude and sarcastic, we decided to leave.

Would give 0 stars if it was possible. It took over an hour for our food to come out. When it came out it was wrong, so we had to wait longer. Drinks were never topped off and since we were outside the ice melted and watered them all down, never got the straws that we requested for them either. Our children were almost in tears because of how hungry they were getting. And dont forget that even though your meal comes with food that is necessary to use utensils, utensils are not provided unless requested. Terrible, terrible service, very run down building. They definitely cater more towards the bar than the people trying to dine there. Would not recommend!!!!!!

Stopped in on my lunch break while I was in the area, very quick, good food for the price. The owner is very nice, friendly, and easy to talk to.
